Selma Alberta Howell

Selma Alberta (Bert) Howell transitioned to her heavenly home on September 19,2026. Born on December 2, 1928, Selma lived a life marked by faith, love, devotion to family. She leaves behind a legacy unwavering dedication to those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Allen Howell; her father, George Henry Barlow; her mother, Ila Mae Knowles Barlow; her brother, Jesse Barlow; her sister, Margie Caslin; her great-grandson, Thomas Samuel French; and her son-in-law, Mark Anthony Todd.

She is survived by her loving children, Elaine Howell Todd, John William Howell, and George Allen Howell (Vicki). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Rebecca French (Gerrit), Richard Howell (Andrea), Monica Bramlett (David), Timothy Howell, and Jarrod Todd (Sarah).Selma was blessed with great-grandchildren who brought her much joy: Brody Howell, Ashlynn Howell, Jack French, Tyler Bramlett, Mason Bramlett, and George Todd. 

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Aspire Physical Recovery Center and Southeastern Hospice for the compassionate care and support provided to their mother during her final days.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

 Selma will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but they find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in her heavenly home and reunited with those who have gone before her.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery on Thursday Sept. 24th at 10:00 AM.
