Sherrell Eudon "Don" Townley, age 82, of Warrior, Alabama, passed away at home Monday, December 6, 2021. He was born to Larkin and Ida Frederick Townley on May 2, 1939 in Hackleburg, Alabama.  He waa married to June Pennington  for more than 60 years. He retired from American General Insurance after 39 years of service. Don was a true Christian who loved his Lord. Don's greatest accomplishments were his three children. He will be remembered for being a jokester and a cut-up. He played many a-card game, loved to grow a garden, loved fishing and hunting, was a dedicated Christian and a hard worker. He loved to tinker with and fix up old Volkswagens. He will be missed by his family and friends, but knew he would see them in Heaven. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Larkin and Ida Townley; nephew, Ricky Townley. He is survived by his loving wife, June Pennington Townley;  daughters,   Donna (Lee) Staton, Sherri (Chris) Thornton; son, Tim (Tracy) Townley; grandchildren, Casey (Matt) Eure, Caleb Staton, Emily Thornton, Matthew Townley; great-granddaughter,  Carlee June Eure; brother, Elvis (Christine) Townley;  nephews, Jerry Townley, Allen (Ann) Townley family would like to extend special thanks and love to Oasis Hospice and Chaplain David Carpenter for their care and support. By family request, and according to Don's wishes, a private service will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home, followed by private burial at New Bethel Cemetery.
