Shirley Patricia Hagood of Morris, Ala. passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the age of 79.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Mary Lou Higgins; her husband of 50 years, Curtis E. Hagood; and her brother, Billy Joe Higgins. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Guthrie (Gaius); granddaughters, Scotti Clark (Tyler) and Sunni Farris (Austin); 3 great-grandchildren, Cayden and Harper Clark, and Charlie Jean Farris, and anxiously awaiting the arrival of #4; as well as her very best lifelong friend, Gertrude Payne (Robert).

There will be a closed casket visitation for Shirley at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Saturday, November 29, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Following the funeral service, everyone will travel of their own accord to Haig Rogers Cemetery in Morris, where we will all reconvene graveside for a brief committal service prior to interment.
