Shirley Sue Thomas
Born March 30, 1940 in Kimberly, AL to Lonnie and Lois Doss and later raised by her Aunt and Uncle Enoch and Flora Childers.
She left her Earthly home on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Lonnie and Lois Doss and Enoch and Flora Childers, her husband James "Mickey" Thomas, her brothers Douglas "Buddy" Doss and Talmadge "Tommy" Doss, and her sister Dorothy "Faye" Southern.

She is survived by her children: Steve Mosley (Loretta), Tammy Sullivan (Joseph), and Timmy Walker; her grandchildren: Heather Bullard, Caitlyn Jones (Blake), Caleb Mosley (Morgan), Shelby Mosley (DeAndre Graves); her great-grandchildren: Chaz McElrath, Haven and TJ Jones, Taylor Mosley, and Crue Graves; her sisters-in-law Lenora Doss and Brenda Carter, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Shirley had a zest for life. She was always laughing, and she wanted everyone around her to be laughing as well. Known as Mawmaw to most, she never met a stranger.  She loved her family and the Alabama Crimson Tide-even if she didn't really know what was going on. She always looked forward to handing out candy on Halloween and having everyone together at her house Christmas morning. You would get bonus points from her if you would do "the twist," take her to the state line to get lotto tickets, play the potato game, or take her to the casino. Her obsession with Conway Twitty could only be surpassed by the true love she had for her husband Mickey. To know her was to love her.

Visitation will be Monday July 28th from 1-2pm Services starting at 2 here in the Chapel, Graveside services will be held at Warrior Memorial Gardens. Donnie Glass will officiate.

After Graveside services there is not a formal meal provided, but the family is going to the White House if anyone wants to join.
