Silas "Benny" Doss, age 61, of Warrior, Alabama, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

Benny was the best husband, father, grandfather, and friend anyone could ever ask for. If you knew him, you loved him. He loved watching his grandchildren play, and Saturday night football. He was an avid Alabama fan. He enjoyed working for the City of Warrior, and with his co-workers, Jeremy (supervisor) and Mr. Lewis Jolly, etc; Benny was a hardworking man.

Benny's proudest accomplishments were his family.  He loved his family and friends.  He never met a stranger and he was loved by so many.  He was an all around great, loving and caring man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Eleeza Doss; brothers, Billy Ray and Terry Eugene Doss; sisters, Mary Carolyn Doss Mahaffey, Kathleen Doss, Claira Jean Doss Elliott; father-in law and mother-in-law, Sydney and Rebecca Mann; sister-in-law, Rebecca Darlene Mann McCay.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Doss; daughter, Rebecca Sue Doss (Johnny Hayes); son, Mitchell  Lee Doss (Jennifer Dake) daughter, Samantha Doss; grandchildren, Rachel Darlene Blair, Ricky Dale Weems (Hannah Kirskey), Anthony MIchael Weems, Dylen Lee Doss, Blaine Matthew Doss, Emma Ann Doss, Rebecca Kay Plass, Baxton Curtis Myrick, Ashton and Brylon Stewart; great-grandchildren, Cason Matthew Pattillo, Cambree Gail Weems; brother, Robert Doss; sister, Linda Mann; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family will receive friends at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, November 1 from 11:00-a.m.-12:00 p.m. with funeral service proceeding the visitation. Interment will be at Liberty Minter Cemetery in Kimberly.
