Sissy
Rooker
Jul 26, 1955 — Jun 22, 2024
Dora
Margaret Ann "Sissy" Rooker (Huey), age 68, of Dora, Alabama passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
Sissy was preceded in death by her parents, Talmidge "Buddy" Eugene Huey and Pauline Margaret Robinson Huey; and her brother, James "Jimbo" Edward Huey.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, William Michael "Mike" Rooker; daughter, Sharon "Shuggy" Little; sons, Stevie Ray Kitchens and Joseph Rooker (Deidre); grandkids, Keri Echols (Brandon), Heather Sandlin, Tyler Kitchens (Katie), Isaiah Rooker, Owen Rooker, Julie Rooker; great-grandkids, Tyler Kitchens, Jr. and Ally Kitchens; brother, Stevie Joe Huey (Robyn); as well as lots of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and so many friends!
Sissy loved more than anything her family and all of her friends. She was a wonderful cook, and she loved feeding her family and friends. Sissy was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was married to the love of her life, Mike, for 34 years. You could often find her sitting outside on the porch in her swing (with a fan, of course), or sitting in her favorite recliner watching Westerns, Food Network, or the ID Channel. She loved spending long weekends with Mike and her friends at the casino, or on trips to anywhere and everywhere! She never met a stranger, and she was the kindest woman you'd ever meet. The saying "She'd give you the shirt off her back" was never truer for someone than it was for her. She truly gave everything she had to others. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
A visitation for Sissy will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. ** If you plan to send flowers for Sissy's service, please consider potted plants or vases that the family can take home with them, as there will not be a grave to place floral stands on following the funeral service. **
