Sparky Glen Thomas, age 60, of Hayden, AL passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023. Sparky enjoyed traveling and sports, especially Alabama football. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and spoiling his two dogs, Lily and Camille. Sparky was a dedicated, reliable and wonderful father, grandfather and friend, who was also known to be a big jokester with a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.  Sparky was preceded in death by his wife, Mallorie Thomas; father, James Thomas, Sr.; and siblings, Rhona Baginski, Quana Beavers, and Keith Thomas. He is survived by his son, Lee Nehring-Thomas (Shayna); grandchildren: Easton, Rylant and Kacelyn Nehring; mother, Bobbie Thomas; siblings, Renona Stine (Steve), Jimmy Thomas, Marla Shropshire, and Marcus Thomas; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service for Sparky will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Friday, June 30, beginning at 6:00 pm. There will be a 30 minute visitation before the memorial service.
