Obituary

Steven James Knight of Morris, Alabama passed away and entered his eternal home on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the age of 34.

Steven entered this world at 29 weeks gestation, weighing in at only 3.6 pounds. Although tiny, he was tough and with his medical team and the devoted love and care he received from his mom, his aunt, Melissa, and his Nanny during those critical first few months of his life, he not only survived, but grew to be a healthy child. His aunt, Debbie, was also very involved in his care once released from the hospital. Steven grew up surrounded by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him very much.

Steven was the very proud father of his only child, Daniel Elijah Knight, who is 11 years old. Steven enjoyed many things, but nothing made him as happy or proud as Daniel. Daniel was a bright light in Steven's life, and he loved him very much.

Steven was a proud member of the band, Until the Last Beat, which he formed along with friends, Jordan Tinker and David Loggins.

Until recently, Steven was a long-time employee of Conklin in Birmingham, where he drove a forklift and enjoyed spending time with his friend, Ty, and his other co-workers. Steven enjoyed music, playing guitar, drawing, rock concerts and Universal Studios Theme Park. Steven was blessed to be able to attend numerous concerts and take many vacations over the years with his mom and aunt Melissa. Later, those trips included his son, Daniel. They made many wonderful memories that will be cherished by all forever.

Steven was preceded in death by his grandfather, Steve Cvitonavich; his grandmother, Bertha "Bert/Nanny" Cvitonavich; his uncle, Rod Doty (Debbie); and grandfather, James Knight.

Steven is survived by his mother, Vera K. Cvitonavich (Greg Bodiford); his aunts, Melissa Cvitonavich (Thomas "Tom" Pasawicz), Debbie Doty and Sandra "Sandy" Gipson (Sonny); close family friend, Wanda Baer (Daniel's grandma); longtime friends, Jordan Tinker and David Loggins; his father Donald Knight; half-sisters, Rachel and Sarah Knight; grandmother, Gayle Knight; as well as numerous cousins.

A private viewing will be held for immediate family with a full memorial service that the family will announce at a later date.
