Terry Clyde
Sharp
Mar 24, 1953 — Dec 24, 2024
Hayden
Terry Sharp went home to his Heavenly family on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024, at the age of 71.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife and mother of his four daughters, Mary Catherine Ritchey Sharp; his four daughters: Rachel Janele Sharp (Michael Palmer), Terri Christina Sharp (Justin Veit), Crystal Lynn Sharp (Kamyar Toolabi), and Angel Leigh Sharp; his grandchildren, Leila Zoe Palmer and Ella Catherine Palmer; his twin brother, Jerry Henry Sharp; his brother, Melvin Douglas Sharp (Lisa); and his sister-in-law, Rose Sharp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Louie Sharp and Willie Louise Gardner Sharp Grund; and his brother, Dennis Floyd Sharp (Linda).
Terry grew up in Warrior, Alabama, where he attended Warrior High School and graduated from Rogers' Vocational School. He spent his childhood years helping his father outdoors and playing with his brothers and cousins. As he grew, he enjoyed playing baseball and was an avid outdoorsman (mostly hunting white-tail deer and freshwater fishing). His favorite part of the outdoors was "watching everything come alive." On October 9, 1981, he married Mary, and they began their family together. Terry served as a member and deacon at Mountain Brook Baptist Church in Hayden, Alabama, where he enjoyed fellowship with his brothers and sisters in Christ.
"I have fought the good fight; I have finished my course, I have kept my faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not the me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-9
A visitation for Terry will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Sunday, December 29, with the family receiving guests from noon to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Immediately following the funeral service, those who wish to attend a brief committal service before interment will be asked to reconvene graveside in Ricetown Cemetery. Zayne Smith will be officiating the funeral and committal services.
