Theron "Theo" Wilson, a man of profound kindness and exceptional generosity, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of community and love. Theo truly never met a stranger, welcoming everyone into his life with immediate warmth. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Rebecca Ann Wilson, with whom he shared 66 beautiful years of marriage before her passing. Together, Theo and Ann shared a vibrant life full of adventure; they loved camping in Guntersville, Alabama and in Panama City, Florida. In their later years, they could often be found on the dance floor as avid square dancers.

A devoted Christian and pillar of North Highland Baptist Church, Theo spent his life pouring love into his community. For many years, the residents of Hayden knew him simply as "Mr. Wilson," their dedicated and smiling school bus driver. Beyond his career, Theo was deeply invested in lifting up his neighbors. As an active member of the Jaycees in the late 1960s, his hands-on carpentry skills and hard work directly helped build the Warrior Community Center, leaving a lasting landmark for generations to come. When he wasn't volunteering or behind the wheel, Theo could be found outdoors tending to his yard or working on woodworking projects. He carried a deep, lifelong passion for bluegrass music, even spending his final full day surrounded by the community and songs he loved at a local music event. Over his last two years, Theo brought his trademark warmth to his retirement community, filling his final chapters with the joy of making countless new, deeply cherished friends.

Theo is survived by his loving family, including his son, Joel Keith Wilson and daughter-in-law, Margaret Laura Wilson of Hayden, Alabama; his adopted daughter, Bonnie Miller Ropog, and his cherished adopted granddaughters, Rachel, Nicole, and Emily Ropog, all of Pelham, Alabama. He is also survived by his two brothers, Donald Joseph Wilson of Coaldale, Alabama, and Rufus Gerald Wilson of Bessemer, Alabama; as well as a host of extended family members, neighbors, and friends, all of whom will miss Theo dearly.

A service to honor and celebrate his life will take place on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at North Highland Baptist Church (523 Main St, Warrior, AL 35180). Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed immediately by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Steve Abney officiating. A graveside burial service will follow at Graves Gap Cemetery in Hayden, Alabama.
