T.J. Brakefield, age 90, of Warrior, AL, surrounded by his children, went home to be with the Lord on February 3, 2021.  T.J. is survived by his children, Janice Sloan, Ricky Brakefield, David and Rhonda Pierce, Kenneth and Debbie Bush, Keith Brakefield, Marsha Clayton, Jenny Roberts, Joel and Cindi Owens; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of very close friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Brakefield; son, Tony Brakefield, and son-in-law, Ronnie Sloan. He was a Godly man, who loved the Lord and served him fervently from March 21, 1997, the day he accepted the Lord into his life, until he left here to go meet the Lord. Lee's Chapel Baptist Church was where he loved to go to worship his Lord. He was involved with the Warrior Senior Center, and was also a sponsor for the AA. He will be missed by many. He was loved deeply by his family and friends. A visitation for Mr. Brakefield will be held at Lee's Chapel Baptist Church in Gardendale, on Saturday, February 6, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Calcedonia Baptist Cemetery.
