Virginia Mae Aycock Mitchell, age 82, of Hayden, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father, Julius A. Hogeland; mother, Dessie Graves Hogeland; husbands James T. Aycock and Chalmer Mitchell; daughter, Mary Clyde Phillips; brothers, Ray and Kenneth Hogeland; and sister-in-law, Martha Hogeland. She is survived by her brother, Ronald Hogeland; cousin, Marie Armstrong; daughters, Margaret Aycock Waid and Jeannine Tombrello Ledlow; step-daughter, Karen Mitchell; Tyelee Howard; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special friend, Susan Delenne. A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Mitchell at Graves Gap Cemetery on Saturday, January 30, beginning at 12:00 p.m. Masks will be required and social distancing will be strictly enforced, to ensure the safety of all those attending the service.
