Obituary

Mrs. Vivian Elouise Hartley Crane went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the age of 87, where she is now restored to a heavenly and everlasting mind and body. She attended the University of Montevallo and Jacksonville State University, where she earned a degree in education and went on to teach home economics at Hayden High School for 20 plus years. As many of her former students and family know, she was an excellent cook and seamstress, loved her flower gardens and beautiful potted plants, and she enjoyed sharing her love of those skills with them when she was teaching, and long after her retirement from Hayden High School. She also helped her husband on their farm by driving the tractor and raking and fluffing hay and helping raise cattle. Mrs. Crane was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Andrew Crane; parents, Eric and Fannie Hartley; brother-in-law, Bud Sivley; niece, Debra Sivley; and son-in-law, Kenny Stockman. Those left to cherish her love and memories are daughters, Jane Crane Stockman, Leah Crane (Michael) Taylor; grandsons, Joey (Amanda), Brad (Ashley) and Jesse Stockman; great-grandchildren, Housten, Peyton, Britton, Case, Siarra, Shianne, and Major Stockman; sister, Lillian Sivley; nephew, David Sivley (Joan); niece, Cheryl Sivley Nordstrom; great nieces, a great nephew, great-great nephews, and an extended host of loving family members and friends. A graveside service will be held at Warrior Memorial Gardens on Saturday, January 23, at 1:00 p.m.
