Wayne Charles Campbell, age 78, of Hayden, Alabama passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024.

Known in the community as "the gas man," Wayne was always willing to take care of his customers at Dowdle Gas, any time. He was an avid Alabama fan, and a good grandfather. The most significant aspect of his life was accomplished at the end, when he accepted Christ as his Savior.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Hessie and Jessie Campbell; and siblings, Danny, Gary, Rickey, Randy, and Jewel Dean.

He is survived by his wife, Jerrie H. Campbell; step-children, Mike Mitchell (Pam), Tony Mitchell (Michelle), and Janet Campbell (Terry); grandchildren, Quaide, Carrie and Caleb Mitchell, Candi Young (Judah), and Scott Thomas; and siblings, Maloy Campbell (Barbara), Delores "Lois" Eison (Bill), Deborah Myrick (Larry), Steve Campbell (Sedona), and Charlene McCoy (Rick).

A visitation for Wayne will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Thursday, December 26, from 1:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow immediately after, in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
