William Kenneth Burns, born November 4, 1931, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 88 on July 27, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Faye Brown Burns, his three daughters, Karen Peters Lankford (Hank), Cathy Coggins (Mark), and Serena Doss (Christopher). He has one remaining sister, Juanita Norman. He was preceded in death by his oldest sister Geneva Marsh. He was blessed with four grandsons Brandon Peters (Julie), Adam Coggins (Jessica), Brett Coggins (Laura), Scott Peters (Samantha) and one granddaughter Kimberly Waddell Kiinstler (Jordan) along with three great granddaughters Layla Peters, Lauren Peters, and Scarlett Coggins, four great grandsons, Addison Coggins, Kaiden Coggins, Gavin Peters, and Phillip Peters and a host of nieces and nephews.

He and Faye lived in Trafford, AL for 54 years, and after his retirement from the City of Homewood in 1992, he worked (hung out) at Carroll's Gas Station and Watson Body Shop where he loved visiting with the people of Warrior every day. The Warrior Senior Citizen Center became his and Mom's extended family for several years, and they loved everyone they spent time with.
There will be a private graveside service, presided over by his nephew Rev. Randy Norman, on July 29, 2020.
