William (Bill) Martin Ivey, of County Line, Alabama, died at the age of 81 on
April 6, 2024, at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
He was born in Birmingham, Alabama and lived in surrounding towns for the
remainder of his life. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church, which
he cherished dearly. He enjoyed playing music on his dulcimers,
corresponding on the ham radio, and using his talents engraving beautifully
on glass, and wood.
He is preceded in death by his father; William P. Ivey, mother; Wilda Martin
Ivey; Amazing Wife of 56 years Sylvia Chapman Ivey, and precious daughter,
Tanya Elizabeth Burns.
He is survived by his daughters: Tara Kennedy(Jason) and Teresa Lyons;
grandchildren James Kennedy, Jonathon Kennedy, Lacey Lyons, and William
Lyons (Samantha); And seven great grandchildren; His sisters: Sandra Ivey
McMahan; Linda Kay Pevoto, Nieces: Sonya Frambach, Leah McMahan
Akers(Derek), Lanae McMahan Rogers(Brian), Laura M. McMahan; nephews
Peter Frambach, Jim Chapman, and Kory Pevato.
Bill held the rank of Private in the U.S. Army RAMPC at the American
Embassy in Teheran, Iran, serving two tours. He served his community as a
Police offi cer for Vestavia Hills, Gardendale, Midfield, and the Jefferson
County Sheriff's Offices.
Service will be held on April 11,2024 at 11:45 o'clock. At the
