Wilma Hamilton, age 83, of New Castle, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019. She was born on January 20, 1936, in Kimberly, Alabama. She was a member of Trafford Church of God. Wilma worked as a caregiver for many years. She was guided by Jesus in her daily journey. She had a big heart, caring for her family and friends any time they were in need. Wilma was talented in her crochet, making things for others. Wilma's hobby and enjoyment was her crochet, spending time with her family and friends as she lived a simple lifestyle. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Kilgore; her parents, William and Flossie Dunnavant; her daughter, Sheila Thomason; three newborns whose names are unknown; her grandson, William Witcher; her brother, William "Billy" Dunnavant; sisters, Pearl Miller, Betty Melvin and Bertha. Wilma was survived by her sister, Janet Laman; brother, David Dunnavant; daughter, Barbara Posey; sons, Preston Hamilton, Doyle Lawrence and Johnny Lawrence; grandchildren, Sabrina Witcher, Tiffany Posey, Paul Williams, Randall Thomason, Ricky (Elizabeth) Thomason, Rodney (Kimberly) Thomason, Jason Lawrence, Anthony Lawrence, Aaron Hamilton and Calvin (Haley) Taylor; great-grandchildren, Jacob Witcher, Liam Taylor, Summer and James Hoglan, Brooklyn Saranko, Gracelyn Hoglan and Sophia Witcher.

A visitation will be held for Wilma at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 26, from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Funeral service will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home the following day, Wednesday, November 27, beginning at 1:00. Burial to follow at Liberty Minter Cemetery.
